6 - Korea Republic clubs have emerged winners six times since the AFC Champions League was rebranded in 2002-03. Japan have had four victorious sides, Saudi Arabia three, China PR two with teams from the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Australia having lifted the trophy once each.
5 - Five sides from the East Zone will attempt to lift the AFC Champions League trophy again. China PR's Guangzhou FC (2013, 2015) and Korea Republic sides Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors (2006, 2016) and Ulsan Hyundai FC (2012, 2020) will be seeking to complete a hat-trick. Japan's Gamba Osaka (2008) and Korea Republic's Pohang Steelers (2009) are the other former winners in the fray. 
14 - Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors are taking part in the AFC Champions League for the 14th time in their history – a record among Korea Republic teams. Only Saudi Arabia's Al Hilal SFC and Uzbekistan's Pakhtakor (16 each) and UAE's Al Ain (15) have played in the competition more often (Qatar's Al Sadd have also made 14 appearances).
1 - Thailand clubs Ratchaburi FC and Port FC will play in the AFC Champions League for the first time in their history. Thailand will have had a total of 11 clubs that have played in the competition – only Japan and China PR (15 teams each), Islamic Republic of Iran (13) and Korea Republic (12) have had more clubs represent their nation in the competition.
2 - Johor Darul Ta’zim are taking part in the AFC Champions League for the second time in their history after 2019 when they were eliminated at the group stage (they withdrew in 2020). They remain the only Malaysian team to play in the competition.
5 - Kitchee's previous participation in the AFC Champions League ended with five defeats against a single win in 2018. The Hong Kong side only scored once then but with record-chasing Dejan Damjanovic in their ranks, Kitchee will be expecting better returns in their 2021 campaign.

كوالالمبور - انطلقت يوم الثلاثاء منافسات دور المجموعات في دوري أبطال آسيا 2021 لمنطقة الشرق، حيث تحتدم المنافسة من أجل تحديد الأندية الثمانية المتأهلة إلى دور الـ16 عن المنطقة.

ويشهد دور المجموعات في الشرق منافسة بين 20 نادياً تم توزيعها على المجموعات من السادسة وحتى العاشرة.

وتقام مباريات المجموعات الخمس في كل من تايلاند وأوزبكستان، وفيما يلي مجموعة من المحطات الرقمية.

6 - فازت أندية كوريا الجنوبية بلقب البطولة 6 مرات منذ إطلاقها بنظامها الجديد في نسخة 2002-2003، في حين فازت أندية اليابان باللقب 4 مرات، والسعودية 3 مرات، مقابل لقبين للصين ولقب لكل من الإمارات وقطر وأستراليا.

5 - يضم دور المجموعات في منطقة الشرق خمسة أندية تسعى للفوز باللقب من جديد، وهي غوانغزهو الصيني (فاز باللقب عامي 2013 و2015)، وجيونبوك هيونداي موتورز الكوري الجنوبي (2006 و2016)، أولسان هيونداي الكوري (2012 و2020)، بوهانغ ستيلرز (2009) وغامبا أوساكا (2008).

1 - يخوض فريقين من تايلاند، وهما راتشابوري وبورت المشاركة الأولى في تاريخ البطولة، علماً بأن 11 نادياً مثلوا تايلاند في البطولة، في حين تحمل اليابان والصين الرقم الأعلى من خلال 15 نادياً، مقابل 13 لإيران و12 لكوريا الجنوبية.

2 - يخوض نادي جوهور دار التعظيم الماليزي المشاركة الثانية في تاريخ البطولة بعد المشاركة السابقة عام 2019، علماً بأنه انسحب من نسخة العام الماضي، وهو يعتبر الفريق الماليزي الوحيد الذي شارك بالبطولة.

5 - شهدت المشاركة السابقة لنادي كيتشي من هونغ كونغ، تعرضه للخسارة في 5 مباريات مقابل فوز واحد، وهو يأمل بتحقيق نتائج أفضل هذا العام من خلال تواجد المهاجم المونتينيغري ديان داميانوفيتش.

1 - فاز نادي غوانغزهو مرة واحدة في آخر 7 مباريات ضد الأندية اليابانية بدوري أبطال آسيا، حيث تعادل مرتين مقابل 4 خسائر، وقبل ذلك فاز 10 مرات أمام أندية اليابان مقابل 7 تعادلات و4 خسائر.

9 - يتصدر مايكل أولونغا مهاجم نادي الدحيل القطري ترتيب الهدافين في البطولة برصيد 9 أهداف، ولكن المهاجم الكيني لن يكون بإمكانه إضافة المزيد من الأهداف بعد خروج فريقه من دور المجموعات.
